The American Jacob's Creek

Think they can make a go of it? Think American consumers will buy "upscale" Jacob's Creeks?

(I was particularly curious about this: "...and the WAH range of wines designed to go with Japanese cuisine." I'd never even heard of them. Anyone know what they consider Japanese cuisine friendly wines?)

The idea, Hickin said, was to "capture the best of our two lands – Australian fruit and Californian craft – in a single bottle".

Well they just threw Aussie winemakers under the bus, didn't they?

Jacob's Creek is a wine retailers hate--way back when Aussie wines were at their peak of popularity here distributors required retailers to take X large amount of Jacob's Creek in order to get the sought-after premium wines even in markets where Jacob's Creek was a tough sell.

No CLUE re Japanese cuisine. It's news to me that anything besides beer or sparkling wine would be considered an ideal pairing. It probably has nothing to do with that so much as creating floral labels that would appeal to the Japanese housewife, or some such.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Haha! You're right - talk about an implied slight!
