WTN: All Aboüard!

2000 Château La Fleur de Boüard - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Lalande de Pomerol (2/10/2015)
This is very slowly making it way to maturity. There is still a great deal of ripe fruit, and some obvious oak, but it is softening, melding and gaining in elegance. The balance seems right to allow for further aging to full maturity, so I am going to let my last few bottles sit a while longer.

I've been hesitating about buying some Fleur de Boüard 2008 which is on sale at Intermarché for c.€19. Your reference to still obvious oak in 2015 for the 2000 tips me against it. I would have to wait till 2023 and more  .

Indeed.

I bought this on futures in 2001, and at the time I was a bit more tolerant of oak than I am today. So I have some of this, some Fombrauge and a little bit of a couple of other right bank wines that I would never buy today.

That being said, this is now a pretty good wine, but patience is still needed. I wouldn't buy the 2008 if I were you, or me!
