Tried these two Fri night:
1. JosephSwanVnyds PinotNoir Estate/SonomaCoast/RRV (EB; 12 1/2%) Forestville 1988: Med.dark color w/ some bricking; some earthy/mushroomy/forest floor some toasty/oak/pencilly slight black cherry/PN/RCCola bit Burgundian rather complex nose; fairly tart strong mushroomy/truffly/earthy/damp forest floor some pencelly/toasty/oldPinot light black cherry/PN flavor w/ light/gentle/smooth tannins; some smokey/pencilly/toasty/oak rather mushroomy/forest floor/earthy/bit loamy slight black cherry/PN/RCCola complex finish w/ light/smooth tannins; a rather old-timey Calif PN that reminds a bit of the BV Pinots from the '60's; not a lot of fruit left & starting to dry out but still offers up much pleasure in a quiet/gentle way.
