Super Bowl: Combier, Preston, Scholium

Yep. Super Bowl Wines! with delicious ribs!

2011 Laurent Combier Crozes-Hermitage. Even in my haphazrd storage hazards, this bottle had been "abused". It came through the abuse (which I was shocked to discover one afternoon included direct sunlight!) with shining colors. Earthy, juicy. Not refined or fancy or elegant, really. Just delicious in a very savory, meaty way!

2012 Preston Family Old Vine Zin. This was my surprise. Still plenty of delicious berry zin fruit, but definitely in a savory, earthy, plenty of ACID style that was delicious!

2012 Scholium Project Gardens of Babylon. from SOLANO COUNTY! Badly needed decanting and air. Another high acid, fruity, food-friendly wine. Herbal notes complemented a very fine blueberry-cassis fruit palate. Delicious stuff!

Joe's friends also brought a DELICIOUS Toulouse Anderson Valley Pinot that was all about forest floor and truffles and savory goodness. And, we opened an extremely bright Drew Pinot. Did not note the vintages or vineyards for these wines.
