I was rather intrigued when I saw this Scheurebe downtown and after some research decided to buy a bottle!
TN: 2012 Weingut W. Schweinhardt Langenlonsheimer Lohreberg Scheurebe Spatlese, Nahe.
SC, 10.5% alc, $24.00 Cdn. Little known producer but bravo to the wine store for bringing it in.
Very light lemon in color. Apple and tropical fruits on the nose, floral and attractive.
Smooth initial mouthfeel on entry, ripe sweet fruit, good acdity. Peach, pear, a nice fruit balance here.
Not at all sure about all the Sauv Blanc comparisons I read about? I think this is a very good Riesling alternative and it held up well overnight. Excellent match for honey mustard glazed pork kebabs.
