2007 Weingut Jakob Schneider Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (2/1/2015)Opened at halftime of the Super Bowl, and this deserved way more attention than it received. I followed the wine for most of the second half (so 90 minutes or so), and it opened up quite well after 30 minutes. There is still a huge amount of fruit (peaches, cherry) and it also now has a smoky edge that I just loved. The sweetness and acidity are in balance, making an almost silky mouthfeel. It just glides across the palate. Really quite delicious.
