New Winery-Couloir Wines

After doing the stunningly beautiful Paradise Loop in Southern Marin County yesterday (it was nice to ride in an area without dense Tule Fog! *) , I noticed an actual winery tasting room on Ark Row in Downtown Tiburon. This was a bit of a find....these Pinots, from Marin County (Petaluma Gap), Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Santa Rita Hills) were definitely on the lighter, less alcoholic red fruited side of things. I like higher acid, "tart" wines, so these were right up my alley! The Santa Rita Hills Pinot was a little darker and had more earthy, roasted fruit, but even here the winemaking style came out.

Tiny winery (2,000 cases totally) per year, but if you are ever visiting Tiburon as a tourist...check them out!

* What a lousy January. Nasty fog and no rain. Although December was almost record wet, it looks like we are heading for year four of our epic drought.
