2010 Niepoort Douro Dialogo Branco .

It`s warming up here, only minus 10 today! In-house PO asked "when are we going to try another Douro white?"

$23 Cdn, 13.5% alc, cellared 2 yrs. Medium straw color, very floral nose with some tropical fruit tones...apricot, tangerine.
Rather a sweet entry but good with thai chicken kebabs. The acidity is a tad on the low side but then I can never relate to acidity and sweetness :) ! Peach, apricot, some herbal element here. Think I prefer the CARM or Crasto Branco however. Prefer the drier style when tasting Portugal whites.

*** I have an 08 Dialogo red, guess I should pull from the cellar soon?

Only minus ten! I presume you're wearing shorts? :)

Thanks for the note. But is it actually 'branco' with an 'r', not blanco?
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I really want to like Niepoort's Douro wines, but the problem is this: the low end ones (like this one) aren't anything special and the high end ones (Charme, Batuta, etc.) are good, but insanely priced. Yes, it is branco in Portuguese.
