Was reading the lame Desimone/Jenssen book on Calif wine. In it, ZelmaLong states: "....RosatiFamilyWnry, is a small vnyd of old Cabernet high on a ridge in Mendocino, planted by DaveBennion, who planted the Ridge vnyds, including Jimsomare and MonteRosso".
News to me that Dave planted MonteRosso back in the 1880's. I presume Zelma mean MonteBello, not MonteRosso. He planted Rosati from cuttings taken from Jimsomare.
In fact, Daave did not plant Jimsomare or MonteBello...those vnyds already existed. He did have some responsibility for replanting some of the blocks.
The RosatiFamilyWnry website (www.rosatifamilywines.com) looks pretty stale and the latest wine offered is the '07 Cab.
Anybody know the location of this vnyd?? The wnry has a Hopland address. Anybody tried any of their Cabernets?? And???
Tom
