WTN: LimerickLane Zin RRV '12...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Jan 05, 2015 9:28 pm

Tried this last weekend w/ Susan's family:
1. LimerickLane Zin RRV/SonomaCnty (14.8%; www.LimerickLaneWines.com) 2012: Med.dark color; strong dusty/OV very spicy/raspberry/blackberry/Zin light vanilla/oak slight pungent/ozone somewhat peppery nose; rather tart very spicy/raspberry/blackberry/Zin light vanilla/oak bit tight/lean flavor w/ light/lean tannins; very long bright raspberry/blackberry/Zin/spicy bit peppery/pungent light vanilla/oak some dusty/OV finish w/ light/angular tannins; needs a yr to plump up and will go out 6-8 yrs; quite a nice Zin at a very fair price. $32.00 (SFW&S)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is the latest release of the LL basic Zin. It seems not as ripe/lush as the '11 and shows more bright/raspberry fruit; more towards a DCV Zin than RRV.
