From Chalk Hill Wines in the McLaren Vale. A blend of Shiraz (85) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15).

Very dark purple, almost black, in the glass.

Chocolate, cherry, spice and some herbs on the nose.

Sweet black cherry fruit, peppery, slightly creamy but with a backbone of moderate tannins, black licorice. Very rich and full in the mouth.

Drying finish.

Screwcap closure.

Good buy at $14.95 (Canadian).
