2007 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (1/1/2015)
Interesting showing for this wine. When I first opened it there was an intensely tropical aroma of pineapple and mango. Once we got around to dinner that had calmed down a bit, with more mineral and some citrus poking in. It has shed some baby fat, so what was once a lush spätlese has become more linear, though still on the rich side. We left some in the bottle to check on it in 24 hours. Looks like it will be a long term keeper, as the balance is good.

David, your note made me check my cellar book. I do not have this one but did track the 2006 Oberhauser Leistenberg R Spatlese. Notes on CT seem to indicate that it might be ready now. Do you have any opinion please? Thanks.

Bob,

I have no information to suggest there ever was a 2006 Oberhauser Leistenberg Spatlese. The vineyard is normally dedicated to Kabinett, with a very occasional bottling of Auslese (I have the 2001 and 2003). Looked at CT, and did not find any notes (or anyone with bottles of the wine). What are you seeing?

Just got a note back from the winery. They did not make a 2006 Leistenberg Spatlese. Is your bottle perhaps a 2006 Brücke?

Really, I have the bottle right in front of me. I will contact the rep. Wonder what is going on?

Please post a photo of the bottle! I just spoke to Anne D and she gave me the same info David had!

Greetings from Sweden / Fredrik L

Bob - your search is for kabinett, not spatlese. Your request was about spatlese. So you have the kabinett?
