Shared this Pinot w/ John ystrday:
1. CowanCllrs PinotNoir AndersonVlly (13.6%; 270 cs) 2012: Med.dark color; fairly deep/earthy bit mushroomy/herbal strong black cherry/PN/black cherry cola/spicy light smokey/toasty/oak faiirly big nose; fairly tart somewhat herbal/earthy/mushroomy somewhat hard/angular/rough strong black cherry/PN/cola/spicy light toasty/smokey/oakslightly sour/rustic flavor w/ ample/rough tannins; long tart some earthy/mushroomy strong black cherry/PN/spicy light smokey/oak finish w/ rough/hard tannins; needs 2-5 yrs yet; an unusual rendition of AndersonVlly Pinot; speaks loudly of AV Pinot but has a rather rough-hewn quality that reminds me some of Chilean Pinot; an unruly/rambunctious/teenage Pinot that the finishing school of age should polish the rough edges and give a delicious Pinot down the road; very well priced at $28.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is the first Pinot I've tried from FloridaJim. I like Jim's wines quite a lot, across the board. For no good reason, I was expecting a more refined/polished/genteel sort of Pinot. This had a rather rugged/rough-hewn quality I don't often find in Calif Pinot. It will do just fine w/ age, I'm certain.
