Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

Thanks, Howie, enjoyed the read, even though it rather ineptly seems to define 'Canadian wine' as wine from just one region--where is the Niagara Peninsula, Ontario?--without a single mention of British Columbia.

I noticed they didn't include BC. The Niagara Peninsula is the area bordered on the south by Lake Erie, the north, by Lake Ontario and the east by the Niagara River (across Lake Ontario from Toronto). Most of the wines are made below the Niagara Escarpment, which runs East-West from Rochester, NY to Hamilton, Ont. Below the escarpment, the climate is greatly moderated by Lake Ontario, which is very deep, never freezes and cools in the Summer. The wine region extends across the Niagara River, into NY State, where I live.
