WTN: 2013 ESJ Rocks and Gravel

by David M. Bueker » Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:58 pm

2013 Edmunds St. John Rocks and Gravel - USA, California (11/11/2014)
Fresh off the boat...err...truck, this is the most integrated, approachable young vintage of Rocks & Gravel in years. There was just a hint of CO2 prickle when I opened it, but within 15 minutes it was gone, replaced by a velvety up-front texture, and finishing acidic structure. They red fruit and herb aromas and flavors just flow through the wine, making for a very pleasurable drinking experience. It is likely that I did not buy enough of this wine, as it will be impossible to stop drinking it now. Well done Steve.

Yup, David....that ole classic EdmundsStJohn lament: "I shoulda bought more". I whine it all the time.
Thanks for the TN. I've not tried mine yet.

There's still more where that came from, at the moment, anyway. Glad to hear it was enjoyed!

Thanks Steve. Had the last glass tonight, and it was still so delicious.
