2012 Hexamer Sauvignon Blanc Nahe.

by Bob Parsons Alberta » Tue Oct 21, 2014 10:38 am

My very first German Sauvignon Blanc, and pleasantly surprised. Very approachable, clean, dry, with a good fruity-grassy bite. I thought more Loire-like and less NZ (less gooseberry). Well-made light quaffing wine , would be perfect as a patio sipper. Was fairly well received at a recent wine event downtown, funny thing though was trying to explain difference with NZ SB and not many had experienced any wine from NZ :( .

I've had the impression that NZ wines were fairly well represented up there, Bob. Not so?

Sure, some of the group that showed up at the tasting were obviously rookies!

I have tasted the Hexamer three times, and can almost tolerate it. That's high praise from this SB hater.
