Ch.Doisy-Daene AC: Bordeaux GrandVin Sec (MeBaC; 13%) DenisDuBordieu/Barsac 2013: Pale yellow color; intense cat pee/fecal/fetid Kansas outhouse on a hot July day some reductive/salami/smoked hot dog bit herbal very pungent SB nose; tart/metallic/tangy very stony/mineral/steely earthy somewhat fecal/Kansas outhouse flavor; med.short (thankfully) metallic/tangy/tinny grapefruity/herbal fecal/Kansas crapper/fetid finish; way out on the pungent/stinky end of the SauvBlanc spectrum. $25.00 (vSC)

1. Most picked up on this being a SauvBlanc. The sole redeeming feature was that it was a "GrandVin". I can only imagine this being a pleasure to drink if your out in a Kansas outhouse on a blistering July summer day, reading the Sears&Roebuck catalog.

Guess we don't like the same kind of SB! A local wine seller brought a bottle of this over a few weeks ago for a bocce game and we all loved it. A few days later I dropped by his store to buy a few more bottles for myself. It's certainly as intense, grassy, cat pee, earthy, metallic, tangy as you say, but I can't verify "Kansas out house" nor would I have deployed the word "fecal". And I also found grapefruit and passion fruit, and I note that not one of your descriptors was actual fruit. Makes me wonder if your bottle wasn't dealing with a mercaptan issue that our bottle didn't have.
