2002 Château Poujeaux - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc (10/17/2014)Not a bad deal at all. The 2002 Poujeaux has developed some interesting cedary elements, and still maintains a good core of black cherry fruit. It's tannic, and likely always will be, but with a braised beef roast it hits the spot. It also has the advantage of being inexpensive enough that throwing a cup of the wine into the braise does not cause heart palpitations.

Poujeaux is such a solid performer.
I think 2002 is a bit like 1994 or 1988- best taken for what they are, a somewhat sturdy vintage.

Yup. And there are good uses for such wines-including drinking them!
