WTN: Sky Zin LateHrvst '87...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Tue Oct 14, 2014 11:28 am

Well...I did have to have something to go w/ my Java Stout/Balsamic short ribs, so I cracked this next throw-away:
1. Sky Zin NapaVlly LateHrvst (16.2%; SaH: 31%; RS: 1.3%; EB) 1987: Dark color w/ some browning; intense boysenberry/blackberry/Zin very ripe/raisened/pruney very slight alcoholic slight dusty/earthy complex nose; off-dry some raisened/late harvesty/overripe strong boysenberry/blackberry/Zin complex oldZin flavor w/ light/soft tannins; very long slightly sweet very ripe/raisened/pruney/late harvesty strong boysenberry/blackberry/Zin/spicy slight earthy/dusty finish w/ light/soft/ripe tannins; obviously very ripe but still has loads of fruit and holding up well. $22.00 (A)

A wee BP:
1. This was a much better match w/ the short ribs than the Syrah. When I went to enter my TN this morning, for some reason my hand-written notes were pretty scribbly and hard to transcribe. Not quite sure why!! :-)
