Monday was roast chicken, sauteed oyster and shiitake mushrooms, lentils, salad with balsamic marinated plums, and the 2002 Coste-Caumartin “Le Clos des Boucherottes” Pommard 1er Cru; Tight at first, opens up, sapid red fruits, good acids, bright, drinks well and accompanies food nicely. Quite pleasant, but not very complex, and without the strength I'd expect from a Pommard 1er in a good vintage. I enjoyed, but if served blind I'd have guessed a nice Bourgogne or perhaps a Beaune. B/B-
Retasted on Wednesday oxidation had taken over. Hey, it was cheap (for 1er Burg)
Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
