Every time I think I am out, they pull me back in!

It's an old story - trying to reduce the wine cellar input.

For a brief period the input streams were almost under control. The inventory held stable, even if it was unacceptably high.

Lately there have been too many emerging and really interesting wineries (and some that have been around for several years that I recently picked up on). Jonh Bonne's book did not help. The input streams have gone out of control. Just in the last 12 months I have enjoyed, and started buying at least a little from Kutch, Ceritas, Idlewild, Enfield Wine Co., Forlorn Hope & Littorai. I'm on the list for Sandlands and Dirty & Rowdy, waiting an initial offering.

Then there are the lists I have statyed on...

Oh, and ESJ.

Yes, these are first world problems, but oof.

Indeed.
Big change for me is how many domestic wineries I'm interested in.

I'd be interested to learn your overall impression of Forlorn Hope . . .

and if you haven't heard Levi's interview with Hardy Wallace, I found it highly entertaining.

I sliced my out-of-control wine club membership roster down. Including, sadly, Corison. But I just couldn't justify a $500 wine club shipment this summer.

Wind Gap (Pax Mahle) now has introduced a wine club, though. :? And I adore the Broc Wine Cellars lineup. I need to maybe heavily slice again...I still have too many. But Wind Gap is tempting.

If I might interject, I enjoy his wines quite a bit. Gascony Cadets, mostly Petit Verdot, was awesome in 2006!

I think when you reach a certain level of geekiness its really easy to buy more than you really need. I've tried to slow down, ignore some wine offers and consider whether at age 51 I really want/need the latest vintage of vintage port but over the long term its hard to stay away from the wine shop. Maybe it fear of missing out (FOMO).

Drinking an Enfield Wine Company Chardonnay right now. So delicious. There's a list I can't cut.

I met him. Quite impressed with the wines!
