Grunhaus reduction

by David M. Bueker » Tue Jul 08, 2014 8:34 pm

My second bottle of 2012 Maximin Grunhaus Kabinett, and my second that is badly reduced. I am not sure when they switched to cap, but clearly they don't have the process right. I have run into this with other recent converts, but they eventually figure it out. It usually does not show up this soon, so a pretty bad case here.

I am generally a screw cap fan, but Grunhaus blew it here.

I didn't notice any reductive aromas in a '12 Grunhauser QbA, but I'm not that sensitive. In the past I've never thought they were adverse to a pretty good dose of sulphur (maybe not JJPrum levels, but close) so obviously need adjustments.

How high up the pradikats do they use screwcaps?
