WTN: 2007 Clarendon Hills Syrah

This bottle from the Baker's Gully vineyard was a delight. I own 3 more bottles of this and that is it for Aussies in my cellar. I have moved on from Aussie shiraz (this was labeled Syrah) as being just to fruit simple. This wine, however, was not simple with a basic fruit of spicey plum/black raspberry but with a strong roasted coffee note on both the nose and palate. Very dark purple/black in color and with abv of 14.5% , the tannins were mostly resolved but providing just the right lift. Kinda wish now I had bought a case.
