Various Wines

2009 Alexander Valley Cyrus. Fantastic earthy, herbal, rich Sonoma County Bordeaux blend. A bit over 50% cab, with the rest the remaining four varieties. Last bottle :( A beautiful wine...and this was after I idiotically allowed the bottle to get QUITE hot :(

2012 Bouchaine Pinot Gris. Very tangy and "minerally". A hint of oak. Refreshing for the salad course

2012 Da Vera Pinot Nero. Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County. Not what I expected. This pinot is in the school of Pacalet or similar "natural" wine. Bottle claims well into the high 14s in abv, but I don't really taste that. Oak and tannins a little obvious at the moment (I am a bit oakaphobic), but there is very fine acidity and the fruit is definitley on the lighter cranberry-berry side. Would be interesting to see what happens with a little time. Especially given that I think my palate was "off" last night.
