Tried this ystrday w/ John:
1. NinoNegri Quadrio DOCG: ValtellinaSuperiore (90% Nebbiolo/10% Merlot; 13%) Chiuro 2009: Med.dark color; fairly strong earthy/loamy/dusty rather grapey/plummy very slight floral/lilacs/Nebb nose; soft lush/rich plummy/grapey/spicy very light floral/lilacs slight tangy/metallic flavor w/ slight lean/hard/bitey tannins; med. soft plummy/grapey some earthy/loamy very light floral/Nebb finish w/ light bitey/astringent tannins; quite a pleasant/drinkable red but speaks neither of the Valtelline nor of Nebbiolo except for the bitey tannins. $20.00

A wee BP:
1. Whatta waste of good Nebbiolo. This was a pleasant little red that paired well w/ my red pepper pasta. But as a Valtelline Nebb, it just wasn't there. Amazing how only 10% Merlot completely comandeered this wine. Very disappointing.
