2012 Bouchaine Las Brisas Riesling

Definitely on the Kabinet+ level of sweetness. Light and crisp, though, and as it opened up over the evening, the "petrol" notes became much more evident. Decent acidity, this was a nice quaffer.

In past vintages I have found the Bouchaine Chardonnay to be a nice drink.

I always wonder where places in Napa find decent acidity for whites. Any idea where the grapes are from?

Carneros south of Highway 12/121. Plus, a moderate temperature year. Not a cool year like 2011, but reasonable.

Yes. I like the steel (unoaked) version as well.

Las Brisas is actually in Sonoma/Carneros (not Napa). And Mike Richmond is an original Riesling fanatic, since the early 70's.
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...

Ah. I think I am confusing vineyards, Steve. Thanks for the info!

I did enjoy the riesling quite a bit!
