Went very well with the appetizers and the amazing blues guitar work on display that evening! 2009 Alexander Valley Vineyard "Cyrus" Bordeaux Blend. I love AVV. While quite soft and approachable even at this stage, this is not a particularly "fruity" or primary California red but more of an earthy, soft, savory, delicious sipping wine. It went fine with my grilled salmon! Definitely a hint of pyrazines here, but not obnoxious in any way. A winner, and it can certainly age. This unheralded winery, along with Clos Du Val and Corison, continue to put out red blends in a style that I simply prefer.
