Russian River Valley, CA. 14.6% abv. Opaque, dark purple in the glass with viscosity. It gives a sweet scent of ripe dark berries. Seems a little muddled on the palate with ripe fruit notes taking precedence over other traits. I did find some green olive notes the second evening, and where other people's notes mention a meaty edge, it seemed more a nonspecific savory element to me. The finish was lengthy and a little drying. I had this with stuffed green peppers and a tomato sauce.
