2009 Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel
Color: Violet red.
Nose: Pepper and earth.
Taste: Silky smooth and elegant. Excellent balance with nice acidity. Black cherry, pepper, and coffee. Long finish that gradually just fades to black.
This is an very good zin blend that I grabbed on closeout for $16 at a local shop. The attendant told me that they had sold out of the Three Valleys. Thanks to my unwillingness to take the word of any clerk who would say "That's a wine, right" I dug through the bins until I found a lone bottle buried beneath some generic cabernet. It was well worth the effort.
I truly cannot remember ever having a subpar QPR Ridge.
