Garnet red. Floral nose, hints of peach, plum, hint of anise. Thin, lean on the palate, decent acidity, almost austere, not as much fruit as the nose would indicate. Decent wine, but just that. Alc 13%.

Doesn't sound anything like the delish 09s I remember so fondly. :|

In my fall article on Beaujolais I made the comment that the '11 Beaujolais were some of the best I've ever tasted. Having a few bottles since the initial tasting and I am convinced that it is at least a very good vintage, if not deserving of the "best ever" tag. But I still think that it is an incredibly clean, precise and tasty vintage. I have not had a bad one. Whether it will be a long lived vintage will be determined (though probably not), but like the '07 Bordeaux, what's wrong with drinking a pleasant wine young? But let's remember what Beaujolais traditionally is, a no non-sense, early drinking, food friendly, go-along, get-along wine. A fact that we often forget. And as for DeBoeuf, for a lot of us this "is" Beaujolais, and is a better than average representation. In the bigger markets you will no doubt get more interesting wines, but (I'm in SC) we get mostly DeBoeuf (and usually quite a good selection), and in my last blind tasting his wines came in #1 and #2, followed by some very nice Kermit Lynch, et. al., out of 16 wines. I think would all agree that Beaujolais is one of the world's great wine values.
