SFChron: Two By Bonne

by TomHill » Sun Mar 16, 2014 8:59 pm

Two articles recently went up on the SFChron page. The first article is quite interresting in that it refers to things other than Cab & Chard that are being grown in the NapaVlly:
NapaVllyDiversity
In other words, "god-forsaken" grapes that anybody w/ any common sense and their eye on the bottom line would never think of planting. It's interesting what LeeHudson has going into the ground. Won't play in Minktown, though.

The other article:
CalifWineBooks

is a nice trip down memory lane as Jon relates some of the info from books on Calif wines that were published back in the '70's that he's collected over the yrs. These are, of course, the books I cut my vinous teeth on whilst Jon was terrorizing the girls back in kindergarten.

Anyway...two interesting atricles which illustrate well how out-of-touch Jon is w/ his SFChron readership.

Tom,
It is often interesting to note any predictions by the author that came to pass or did not. Some of these older books are like snapshots that were taken of the popular sentiment of that time.
