Who are you, Bonne's stenographer???

Seriously, Tom, give us a little more of your thoughts (even if they are long and boring) on Bonne's take and his choices...or at least the ones you are familiar with.

Well, Hoke.... I just didn't have much to add to Jon's comments. I thought it was a fairly diverse list, given that he usually
seeks out obscure producers. He even had RanchoZabaco and BuenaVista on it.
I was going to make a snide comment that the article, once again, demonstrates Jon's arrogance and being out of touch
w/ his readership (TFIC), as some folks claim, but I decided to ease up a bit.
I think he's right about RRV producing Zins that outperform most DCV Zins. That's consistent w/ my observations.
Stenographer??? I seriously doubt the young folks around here have any clue as to what a stenographer is/was.
You're showing your age, Hoke!!!

Lately, I've been feeling my age, Tom.

Hmmm. About the DCV zins. Couldn''t help but notice that a few years ago DC took a significant shift towards Other Grapes, most noticeabely syrah and grenache and Rhonish stuff, and I think it was to the detriment of their zinfandelicitiness. Certainly didn't help that there were some godawful monstrosities of zin being produced about that time either, and several of the old-fashioned family producers were being either corporatized or were succumbing to modernaziation (over ripeness, blah blah). So I think DCV in general had some major slippage. Still, we got Unti and some other good stuff out of that, right?

And if you want zin....well, we'll always have Mendocino to lap up, amiright? (That was always where a lot of good zin was; and as bonus it was not overpriced.)

I am with Hoke on this one. A link with no commentary is...well...short/boring.

I, for one, found it interesting, and would have missed it, so thanks for posting it Tom.
