They donate profits from the winery to cardiac research.
The basic bordeaux blend is called 120-Over-80 (as in ideal blood pressure)!
Very approachable warm, savory meaty cabs that are definitely in a Bordeaux style. Not a Napa fruit bomb at all, although the alcohol is up there.
Beautiful building!
2005 Helios (Corison) Syrah. A little simpler and more fruit forward than the bottle tried at the winery, which was stunning. Bottle variation? Still a pleasant and enjoyable fruity syrah with possibly years to go.
2011 Milat Napa Valley Zinfandel. A total fruit bomb, and 15.6% alcohol. Still, had a rich dark plum flavor with berries and I got pretty distinctive black pepper notes. Shouldn't like this, but I did! The owners are a hoot! Old time Napa family of brothers, a lot of fun at the winery!
2011 Fields Family Il Ladro. Lodi. Sangiovese, Cab, Merlot. Brilliant sweet red cherry fruit with palate cleansing acidity. Although definitely light and fruity, the acid made this a "moresish" wine with chicken!
2007 Hawke Alexander Valley Merlot. I remember liking this merlot a couple years ago at the tasting room, and it was showing very, very well right now. Definitely some bottle age notes...warm, meaty, savory, and delicious plum and cherry fruit.
2011 Zichichi Dry Creek Zinfandel. High in alcohol, but no evident heat on the palate. A lighter style, with some elegance and grace.
