Feiler-Artinger Zweigelt 2012 - Rust am See, Burgendland; 13%; c.14€
Zweigelt isn't always a huge hit, but I often find them very attractive when they don't try too hard to be something serious. This one is especially attractive because by Finnish standards it is cheap; it comes with a screwcap; and it is yummy. Nice berry aromas with some sort of very slightly earthy/savoury edge to it. It counters the gentle, sweet fruit with proper bite. So dangerously moreish that I'm glad I have a day off work tomorrow because without even realizing it I had drunk half a bottle with my dinner! :D (And I still poured another small glass while writing this just to make sure I remembered it correctly! :O )
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.
