NYTimes: Asimov Takes on PinotGrigio

Interesting article by Eric on PinotGrigio:
NYTimes:PinotGrigio

He, quite correctly, excoriates the producers of the sea of boring/indifferent PG and calls out some PG's that he really likes, many of which I would agree with. It would have been nice for him to point the finger at some of these "bad" producers as well as the good ones.

I completely agree with nearly everything Asimov says here - I've experienced very few enjoyable pinot grigios in my time, and the problem (as with over-oaked california chard) absolutely lies in the producers, though I might dump a little more on the consumers who don't seem to really pay attention to or care about what they're drinking and just default to the familiar. It's kind of sad, really, that out of the 20 bottles of wine they tried, a pair were able to sneak in the top 10 with a mere 1.5 stars. :(
