How Long to Decant 2001 Pegau & Beaucastel

by Clint Hall » Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:26 pm

I'm going to pour a 2001 Pegau and a 2001 Beaucastel as my contribution to a Southern Rhone wine tasting next week. How long would you decant them? The spent their bottled lives in my temperature controlled 58 degree cellar.

If it's the 2001 (you might want to edit the title?) I can't say about the Pegau since I haven't had it recently, but the Beaucastel was in a tasting recently and it was pretty ungiving initially but at c. 4 hours exposure to air it started to show very nicely.
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.

Thanks, Otto. I'll correct my typo. Both wines are 2001.
