WTN: Can you hear the drums Ferrando

2004 Ferrando Carema White Label (Etichetta Bianca) - Italy, Piedmont, Northern Piedmont, Carema (1/5/2014)
Beautiful, and remarkably gentle Nebbiolo. There's plenty of floral and spice aromas, and still ample berry fruit on the palate. Good acids maintain balance and freshness. There's a bit of tannic dryness on the finish, but more than enough substance to age that away. So I guess I will leave my black label bottles alone for a while yet.

The funny thing about living here in Finland is that I have no experience with young Ferrandos. But I did get a few '64s and they were superb. These lesser known areas of Piemonte are IMO supremely interesting - often more so than Barolo and Barbaresco (not that I'd turn down a glass or three of them).
I don't drink wine because of religious reasons ... only for other reasons.

I certainly find the other areas interesting, but Barolo and Barbaresco are the King and Queen for a reason IMO.

Great thread title--though I will probably be stuck with an ear worm for the rest of the night.

Curse you, David,

I had that ABBA tune running through my head the whole afternoon after I read this post.
