- 2007 Evesham Wood Pinot Noir La Grive Bleue - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills (12/23/2013)
A terrific pinot noir for under $25 bucks. Still drinking well. The finish is showing less purity than I would expect from EW but it sits just fine when having food. I had this over 2 days with a slight improvement on the second. That said, I think it is time to drink this up as it is in a nice spot and not sure it will ever be any better. (89 pts.)
- 2006 Big Basin Vineyards Mandala - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (12/18/2013)
This seems to be transitioning into a slightly more delicate syrah. There is now a solid presence of red fruit that creates a more pretty wine. Seems to be holding together fine. I would be hopeful that 3-6 more years could make this outstanding.
- 1993 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Olivet Lane - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (12/15/2013)
Wow. Home run. Drinking perfectly right now. This wine represents what made Williams Selyem great when Burt was making the wines. Pure cherry, California fruit. Not showing any tannins but the acidity is still strong which holds the wine together. Drink now! (96 pts.)
Cheers,
Jason
