Happy Winter Solstice!

by Anders Källberg » Sat Dec 21, 2013 1:54 pm

Just a little more than half an hour ago (18:11 CET) the rotation axis of the earth was pointing away from the sun and has thus now started slowly moving towards it again. Rejoice, Winter Solstice is here and the light is returning!

Open something appropriate (what?) and join the celebrations!

Gotta celebrate with Nebbiolo, of course! A 2004 Barolo by Azelia proved to be absolutley charming. Floral, almost aromatic, with roses and mint, great fresh, juicy cherry fruit and a fine grip from the tannins, giving it a superb structure and a chewable, very moreish aftertaste. The perfect Winter Solstice wine!

Cheers!
