WTN: Bedrock Lorenzo's Heritage '12...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Dec 09, 2013 1:06 pm

Decided to crack one of my new Bedrocks:
1. Bedrock Lorenzo's Heritage DryCreekVlly/SonomaCnty RW (70-100 yr old vines; www.BedrockWineCo.com; 14.9%) 2012: Med.dark color; very strong blackberry/boysenberry/Zin/very spicy rather dusty/OV light toasty/oak/smokey fairly complex/fragrant nose; fairly tart bit lean/tight very strong blackberry/Zin/boysenberry/raspberry bit licorice/pungent/peppery rather dusty/OV fairly complex flavor w/ a bit of hard tannins; very long bit hard/lean/tight strong blackberry/raspberry/Zin/very spict/peppery/slight boysenberry rather dusty/OV light toasty/oak complex finish w/ modest/hard tannins; badly needs several yrs; really highlighhts the dusty/OV character; not a blockbuster or powerful wine but very well-crafted; reminds me a lot of the Bucklin AncientVine Zin from OldHill, maybe a bit of old Ravenswood OldHill w/ less oak & a bit tighter/leaner; very well structured and needs age. $36.00

wow, talk about taking one for the team!!! I'm still waiting on the 2008 Lorenzo, sleeping safely in my cellar,,BTW, popped a bottle of the 2011 Bedrock North Coast Syrah the other night,, bought some after reading your post on it a while back..Only regret is that I didn't buy more of it..terrific young Syrah, exuberant, full of fruit and flavor..Terrific buy at the price..
