WTN: A Viognier and a Viognier Blend

by Dan Smothergill » Fri Dec 06, 2013 6:03 am

Chateau Burgozone Viognier (2012). Produced in Oryahovo, Bulgaria just across the Danube from Romania. Mild perfume in the nose with tastes of peaches and apricots. Just the right balance of acid and sugar with a nice aftertaste. Very pleasant. $13.

Tablas Creek Patelin de Tablas Blanc (2012). An interesting blend of white Rhones (52% Grenache Blanc, 27% Viognier, 16 % Rousanne and 5% Marsanne) but without a distinctive taste and in need of more structure. $17.
