WTN: 2010 LaRue Wines Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

13.2% abv. Very dark purple color. The nose suggests a berry liqueur. This medium to full-bodied wine conveys blueberries, cola and spices on the tastebuds. It reminds me a bit of Merry Edwards's Meredith Estate Pinot Noir which also shows blueberry nuances in some vintages. It is well made as all of Katy Wilson's wines seem to be, but personally I preferred the 2009 vintage which seemed to have more red fruit notes. Decanting might help as I thought this wine had a lovely aroma at a tasting at the West of West Festival last August and wasn't getting as much on the nose this time. The grapes were all from Rice-Spivak Vineyard south of Sebastopol.
