Tried this wine last night:
1. JCCllrs Zin IronHillVnyd/SonomaVlly (15%) 2007: Dark color w/ no bricking; very strong blackberry/plummy/Zin somewhat herbal/rosemary light toasty/oak bit earthy/graphite/mineral licorice/RCCola slight smokey quite interesting/complex nose; soft somewhat hard/tannic some herbal/rosemary strong blackberry/plummy/Zin rather pungent/mineral/grapite/ozone slight tangy/metallic light toasty/oak bit alcoholic quite structured flavor w/ some hard tannins; very long strong plummy/blackberry/Zin/spicy/RCCola bit pungent/graphite/mineral light toasty/oak biit metallic/tangy finish w/ some hard/unyielding tannins; quite an interesting Zin that will probably go another 3-5 yrs before the tannins outweigh everything.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This Zin gomes from the IronHillVnyd, a volcanic ampitheatre that I presume is loaded w/ iron. The wine had a metallic/tangy flavor on the palate that you taste in your mouth when you lick your bloody wound or bite down on a piece of steel. But, of course, we are told that we can't taste the minerals in a wine from the soil. So don't know where that was coming from.
