Paloma Merlot 1998

Paloma Merlot 1998, Spring Mountain AVA
I bought this in the early noughties on a trip to Napa because I thought it had real promise.
It has developed into the wine that I thought it would. Big, lush, voluptuous, ripe fruit on both nose and palate, lots of length on the palate.
A seriously nice wine. Somewhat New World in its fruit forward character but it is hard to fault it. I wish I had bought more, although that would have been impractical.
Excellent and really delicious.
Regards,

That is, for me, one of the best NW Merlots I've ever had. I definitely understand your praise.

Its from California. Although I guess above Saint Helena is "northwest" by some standards.

I know it's Californian--'NW' meant New World, not NorthWest (for that I would use PNW). Robert lives in the Old World (Italy) these days, so the distinction counts.

No problem, the mistake was understandable.
