WTN: 2008 Pellegrini Olivet Lane Vineyard Pinot Noir

by JC (NC) » Tue Nov 19, 2013 1:14 am

Estate grown and bottled. 14.3% abv. Russian River Valley, CA. I visited this vineyard and tasting room on my first trip to Sonoma County but didn't stop there last summer. I think it is near Deloach and Hook and Ladder properties. Merry Edwards receives some of their grapes. I put this bottle in rotation because I initially thought it was a 2006 vintage and might be getting long in the tooth. After discovering it was a 2008, I decided to go ahead and open it anyway.
Inviting tart purple-fruited flavors with some savory notes backing up the fruit. Has a Russian River Valley vibe. Medium bodied. Nice balance. I would score in the mid eighties.
