SFChron:Bonne on Thanksgiving Wines

Jon Bonne has some recs for wines for the Thanksgiving table:
SFChron:BonneThanksgivingWines

And, once again, he's trying to impose his predilection for European wines on our Thanksgiving choices. There's not a single wine with "big flavors" or a NapaVlly Cabernet on the list. This is a list that would only go with boiled tofu...not a Thanksgiving turkey. Ignore this guy...he's clearly arrogant and has an agenda. Particularly the ArbeGarbe...don't go there.

No California Gamay from old What's His Name? The list is totally bogus!
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Wow. Really? Have you tried the Liquid Farm Chard? Or the Dragonette Cellars Grenache? It's not "European," which is a pretty broad brush, anyways.

And the La Clarine Farms wine? I haven't tried it, but I vaguely remember, and I could be wrong, that you liked those wines.

Or maybe you've got your tongue in your cheek, and I missed the attempt at humor.

:D As I was writing, and doing a slow burn, it kinda dawned on me, to mix metaphors, that maybe this was Tom Hill being Tom Hill. I'm reading his book now, and in its discoveries and style it reminds me a lot of Matt Kramer's book on CA wine.

Ok. My faith in you is renewed.
Cheers, Jim
