WTN: Swan Estate PN '04

Well, I felt like a "special occasion" for no particular reason, so I decided that the free corkage night at Bistro des Copains in Occidental was sufficient. Besides, they have duck breast with green peppercorn sauce on the menu, and they do a good onion soup.
So I got out my remaining bottle of Joseph Swan Trenton Estate Pinot Noir 2004 and took it over there.
You need a good map to find Occidental, but Bistro des Copains is worth it. And the roads are great for my little Z4.
It's only my fourth trip there, but I was greeted like a friend and offered "my usual table" ;-) and settled in on a cool, misty evening.
On opening, the wine was a little bit tight. Gotta figure out how to give a wine like this more air when I take it to a restaurant. But given half an hour with the bread and olive tapenade, it began to soften. It was still rustic compared to a 1er cru burg, but given that, running right down the same street. It just kept getting smoother and tastier as the night progressed.
I have half a bottle left, and crab season opens tomorrow. If I can't have crab, I'll buy salmon.
Bought at the winery 14.5% alcohol
