WTN: 2000 Ridge Lytton Springs

Opened for dinner tonight. It's an odd mix of candied berry fruit and volatile acidity. I have not had a wine like this from Ridge. Too bad.

'01 is a much better vintage. '99 is the bomb. I still have a bunch of that, and it is drinking really well with no worries.

I poked around in my "archives" and found a note from 2009 on the 2000 Ridge LS. Basically, it said time to drink 'em if you got 'em. NJ has no more in her cellar, which apparently is a good thing.

Opened the 2001 Friday night, and it was wonderful. Very ripe and full-bodied, but none of the tannins I had expected. Unfortunately it was the last of three, so...:(
