From Chile's Maule Valley.
A 60-20-20 blend.
Decanted. The wine took quite a while to open up, but it was worth it.
Dark purple in the glass.
A slowly opening nose, which eventually revealed juniper, anise, herbs, and milk chocolate.
Intially, quite tannic and drying, vanilla, cloves, black cherry-raspberry, tarry, anise, black olives, gaining a fuller body and showing fleshier fruit and some creaminess with time.
A drying finish, with some creaminess.
Will be a much better wine with a year to 18 months in a cellar.
Purchase at $17.95 Canadian.
