More Beverages and very brief notes

2009 Campovida Nero D'Avola: Black cherries, red cherries, a lovely touch of bitterness, even "shoe polish" that really elevates this wine above a quaffer. Definitely a favorite for me!

Linden Street Brewery (next door) Black Lager. Not familiar with beer tasting adjectives, but this beer was both rich and light, with a lovely mouthfeel and a bracing character. My first "black lager"

2012 Donkey and Goat Pinot. Wow. Even in its youth this wine is showing pure fruit and blazing acidity (but so balanced). To paraphrase Otto, this is a 'MORE' wine.

I keep hearing about Donkey and Goat. Will put the winery on my "to try" list.

And you can try Broc Cellars two doors down. Dashe is a fifteen minute drive away. (Right next to, funnily enough, "J.C. Cellars!", and Campovida is located almost halfway between the two clusters. Throw in Urbano Cellars, Cerutti, Rosenblum, Rock Wall...there is a cornucopia of East Bay urban wineries among the old factories and loft conversions!
